坂出市の国際交流
国際交流のあゆみ
坂出市とアメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州サウサリート市との間に，１９８８（昭和６３）年２月に姉妹都市提携が成立いたしました。
この姉妹都市提携を基盤として、教育・文化・芸術あるいは産業・経済面等多方面にわたる交流を末永く続け、一層有意義な姉妹都市関係を築きあげていくため、より多くの市民の積極的な参加を求め、市民の手による「坂出市姉妹都市協会」が昭和６３年１１月１日に設立されました。
協会設立以来，両市の協会による中高生の相互のホームステイプログラムなど，活発な活動が継続されています。
平成８年４月１２日には，ミシガン州ランシング市と友好都市提携を締結し，さらに国際交流の輪を広げました。
そして平成２４年１月，市民参加による国際交流事業を通して地域の国際化と多文化共生社会の実現することを目的として追加し，坂出市姉妹都市協会を改編した「坂出市国際交流協会」を発足させました。
坂出市国際交流協会では，さらに幅広い国際交流活動を計画，実施しておりますので，皆さまのご参加をお待ちしております。

History of International Exchanges in the City of Sakaide
The City of Sakaide established a sister city affiliation with the City of Sausalito, Calfornia, U.S.A. in February 1988. Aiming to promote long-term exchange in education, culture, arts, industry and economy, the Sakaide Sister City Association was founded on November 1, 1988 in collaboration with the local community. Since then, both cities have worked collaboratively to develop exchange programs, such as mutual home stay programs for junior and high school students.
Looking for further international ties, the City of Sakaide established another friendship affiliation with the City of Lansing, Michigan on April 12, 1996.
In January 2012, the Sakaide Sister City Association was reorganized and changed its name to Sakaide International Association (SIA). Its newly added aims include local internationalization through various activities that citizens can join in, and the realization of an intercultural society. SIA is looking for the participation of local people in various international exchange activities.
姉妹都市 サウサリート市
昭和６３年の米国カリフォルニア州サウサリート市との姉妹都市提携後，中高校生を中心とした短期留学生の交流をおこなっています。
友好都市 ランシング市
平成８年４月１２日には，米国ミシガン州ランシング市と友好都市提携を締結し，さらに国際交流の輪を広げました。
